[NIKONOS IV-A Lens Lock Precautions]

The lens lock mechanism of this camera is designed so that the lock pin retracts when you lightly press the silver knob. Therefore, it may feel like the lens can be removed with a little force, but this is a design unique to the NIKONOS IV-A.

Since this is a full-fledged underwater camera, the locking pin is designed to be easily removed so that it can be easily removed even while wearing gloves underwater.
Please make sure the lens is securely locked before shooting to prevent accidental release (see the last image).

Frequently asked questions about NIKONOS

Q. The lock pin seems to come off easily. Is this okay? Will water get in?

A. It's okay! That's what I thought at first too! (lol) It's just a stopper to prevent rotation, so the real waterproofing is that the O-ring fits snugly!
So, even though the knob is light, the O-ring keeps out water! The lock pin is simple, but when water pressure is applied,
The lens is pressed down, so it actually tightens!
The condition of the O-ring is 100 times more important than the lock pin, so this NIKONOS O-ring has been thoroughly greased, but if you need to worry about future deterioration or need to grease it, we sell the O-ring separately as a set with the strobe.

• Red light is on → Exposure is not correct (too bright or too dark)

• The red light is off → Correct exposure
